Distance Learning at KiDFiT - Ages 5-13

We understand that the uncertainty about school schedules in the Fall is a source of stress and anxiety right now for many of our families. We are hoping that we can offer some peace of mind as the situation continues to evolve. KiDFiT will be open with enhanced health, safety, and cleaning measures to provide care for your children and support for distance learning. There are a number of differences between the upcoming school year and our normal operations.

KiDFiT will be operating our Program as a “Virtual Learning Assistance Program” tentatively beginning on August 31st.  Children will be dropped-off at KiDFiT in the mornings so parents are able to have care for their children during the school day. KiDFiT will take care of all distance learning, homework, snack, outside time, and clubs. Please note, enrollment will be limited to 20 Slots. As we are trying to obtain enough space to meet the needs of our communities, we ask that you register today and reserve your spot now!

Tuition

Children and staff will be grouped in cohorts that have a maximum of 10 Children and staff will be grouped in cohorts that have a maximum of 10 children, including both children and staff in each room. In order to eliminate a mix of children coming in and out of groups throughout the week, KiDFiwill only be offering full-time (Monday through Friday) plans at this point.  No drop-ins or bi-weekly care at this time.

Tuition for full-time care (7:00am – 6:15pm, Monday through Friday) is billed at ($170/week) with transportation ($220/week).  Returning Students will be offered a slight discount.  KiDFiT also accepts vouchers issued through the State of Maryland

Hours of Operation

KiDFiT will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. We recognize that these hours are more limited than our traditional hours. CDC guidelines and industry best practices suggest a cohort model that restricts the mixing of children among groups. This makes the safe staffing of an extended day prohibitively difficult. We hope to expand the hours as conditions improve and we are safely able to resume more normal operations.

Safety Measures

Temperature checks will be conducted (children/staff) upon entering the facility and again in the afternoon
There will be 3 children to a table
Each child will be provided with their own personal Chromebook w/headphones
There will be selected lunch times for 10 students at a time in a separate area

Mandatory face shields will be provided
Sanitation breaks will be given throughout the day
Facility will go through Deep Defogger Sanitation measures every week
Merv 13 Air Filters are installed and changed on a quarterly basis

Calendar

KiDFiT will continue to follow the PGCPS school calendars and we will have more information once these calendars have been finalized by each of the school systems.

Daily Programming

The day will be built around supporting distance learning and providing children with the social emotional connections that have always been the foundation of KiDFit’s program. Based on each child’s distance learning schedule, our KiDFiT staff will make sure that devices are connected, children are logged in on time to class, they remain engaged with their teachers, and they have access to the resources that they need to complete assignments. Outside of distance learning times, the children will remain in their cohort groups for time outside, PE, crafts, games, and all of the other activities that your kids have come to love at KiDFiT (modified to allow for physical distancing and other healthy practices).
